International Research

European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA) publishes
The European Early Childhood Education Research Journal (EECERJ) is one of the most prestigious early childhood journals in the world featuring peer reviewed, scholarly articles based on research which is interested in research which has application. “EECERJ aims to provide a forum for the publication of original research in early childhood education in Europe. With this as its principal focus, it should be emphasised that its definition of education embraces care and that its approach is multidisciplinary, embracing all related fields including psychology, sociology, child health and social work” (European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA):, 2012).

One topic I found interest was the emphasis on children’s outdoor play. In the most read column there were several research studies concerning the benefit of play and children’s healthy development and learning. There are articles on teacher interaction in natural environments, and a comparison of playgrounds equipped with the standard equipment and a natural environment effect on children’s physical development (European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA):, 2012).
I am saving the website for future research. There is a large amount of early childhood information available from international perspective that supports the healthy development of children.

I really enjoy reading your blog. Outdoor play is always good for children in the development. Outdoor play is the best place for the children to practice and master emerging physical skills and also helps them in prevent obesity and heart disease.

I believe that the Europeans are far ahead of the USA in terms of support for, and developmental appropriateness of, early childhood programs. I am so glad you shared this website, it's information is very useful.
Thank you for bringing the information related to outdoor play to our attention. With so many established play structures, sometimes, we forget the lesson that can be learned when interacting with nature

Thank you for sharing the information that you found. I think that is interesting that the put emphasis on playing. I wish we would do that, maybe it will happen in the near future. Physical education is very important for early childhood students, I think it helps the students focus a little more on their schoolwork. Thanks for sharing your findings!
