Relationship Reflection
Relationship Reflection
Relationships are an important aspect of feeling
connected. I have great support from my family, friends, and professional
colleagues. It is easy to share joyous times, heartaches, ideas, and concerns
with someone you have a connection. My best friend is my husband, we will
celebrate 40 years of marriage this month. He is always in my corner,
encouraging me to pursue my dreams. We have three wonderful children and two
adorable grandchildren.
My parents always encouraged me to
pursue my dreams. I have two sisters and a brother who I am very close to. We have
always been close to one another. As young children we had disagreements but,
they never interfered with our bond with each other. I admire them for their perseverance
through the good and not so good times as well. I am blessed to have such warm and
compassionate siblings. My family cheers me on when the times are difficult.
During my thirty plus years working
with young children I have met and worked with some dedicated early childhood
professionals, who inspire me still. Mrs. Browne, my mentor was instrumental in
my early childhood career. During the years I worked with her she taught me so
much about working with and understanding young children. She had a real
passion for educating young children and adults. She inspired me to seek an
education in early childhood.
Relationships must be nurtured so as
not to stagnate. Communication must be respectful between all parties in a
relationship. Each person must be
willing to offer support and accept constructive feedback. Support, trust and encouragement
lend to relationships blossoming into a partnerships.
Learning from past experiences success
or failures, has helped me to grow and learn. I strive to succeed in all my
endeavors, in spite of any adversities. I am determined, dedicated and
passionate about facilitating young children’s learning. Working with other
professionals and collaborating on best practices sustains my interests in the
future of early childhood
education.

I have noticed just from this week's topic alone that we as individuals need relationships in every area of our lives in order to be truly experience growth from what we can contribute to others whether it is support, knowledge, or service. This is evident based on the relationships we form on our jobs, while attending some form of schooling, in our extracurricular activities and in our home lives. It just proves that we need relationships in our lives in order to thrive and be productive.
